Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) offers several admission pathways to accommodate diverse academic backgrounds and student potentials. These admission routes are designed to ensure equal access and to select prospective students based on academic achievement, competencies, and national standards.

The main admission pathways include national selection schemes, institutional selection, and special achievement-based routes. Through these various pathways, UNY provides opportunities for prospective students from different regions and educational backgrounds to pursue higher education in a transparent, fair, and competitive manner.

A. SNBP

The National Achievement-Based Selection (SNBP) is a university admission selection process based on academic achievement, using student report cards and academic and non-academic achievements as determined by the university. The selection is open to students in their final year of senior high school/vocational high school/Islamic high school in 2025 who have outstanding achievements, have a National Student Identification Number (NISN) and are registered in the Student Data System (PDSS), have report card scores that have been entered into the PDSS in accordance with the provisions, and meet the requirements set by each university.

Requirements:

1. Be a student in the final year of senior high school/vocational high school/Islamic high school in 2025 with outstanding achievements.

2. Have a National Student Identification Number (NISN) and be registered in the Student Data System (PDSS).

3. Have report card scores that have been entered into the PDSS in accordance with the provisions.

4. Have academic achievements.

5. Meet the requirements specified by each Academic State University (PTN Akademik) and Vocational State University (PTN Vokasi).

B. SNBT

The 2025 National Test-Based Selection (SNBT) is a university entrance selection based on the results of the Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK) and may be supplemented by other criteria in accordance with the provisions set by the relevant Academic State Universities (PTN Akademik), Vocational State Universities (PTN Vokasi), or State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN). The selection is open to students graduating in 2023, 2024, and 2025 from secondary education (SMA/MA/SMK and equivalent), as well as Package C graduates in 2023, 2024, and 2025 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of 1 July 2025). The costs of administering the SNBT are borne by the participants and subsidised by the government.

Requirements:

1. Participants must have an SNPMB Student Account. Registration for an SNPMB Student Account can be done on the SNPMB Portal.

2. Indonesian citizens (WNI) who have a Population Registration Number (NIK).

3. High school/vocational school/Islamic high school students in Year 12 or final year in 2025, or Package C students in 2025 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of 1 July 2025).

Students who do not yet have a diploma must bring a grade 12 student certificate accompanied by at least:

• identity, including name, class, NISN and NPSN;

• recent passport photo (colour);

• signature of the Principal/Madrasah; and

• school stamp/seal.

4. Graduates of SMA/SMK/MA or equivalent in 2023 and 2024, or graduates of Paket C in 2024 and 2023 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of 1 July 2025).

5. Graduates of equivalent high schools from abroad must have an equivalent diploma.

6. Participants choosing a study programme in the field of Arts and/or Sports must upload a portfolio.

7. Have adequate health so as not to interfere with the smooth running of the study process.

8. Participants with special needs who are visually impaired must upload a Statement of Visual Impairment.

9. Pay the UTBK fee (except for KIP Kuliah participants).

C. Academic Achievement

Independent Selection (SM) for Academic Achievement is a selection process for new undergraduate students based on report card scores and academic achievement.

Requirements:

1. Participants must be graduates of senior high school/MA/vocational high school or equivalent and graduates of Package C in 2023, 2024, or 2025 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of 1 July 2025).

2. Participants must upload proof of graduation in the form of a diploma or SKL or Grade XII Certificate.

3. Must have report card grades for semesters 1 through 5.

4. Certificates/awards for academic achievements are optional (not required).

D. Independent Selection (SM) for Outstanding Achievement

Independent Selection (SM) for Undergraduate Programmes with Outstanding Achievements is a selection process for prospective undergraduate students with outstanding achievements in academic and non-academic fields (e.g. arts, sports, LKS, Olympiads, Hafidz Al-Qur'an and other holy book memorisation).

Requirements:

1. Participants must be graduates of senior high school/MA/vocational high school or equivalent and graduates of Package C in 2023, 2024, or 2025 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of 1 July 2025).

2. Participants must upload proof of graduation in the form of a diploma or SKL or Grade XII Certificate.

3. Possess report card grades for semesters 1 through 5.

4. Upload proof of outstanding achievements in academic and non-academic fields (e.g., award certificates, certificates) at a minimum of the district/city level obtained during high school/MA/vocational school and validated by a credible institution.

E. Independent Selection of Outstanding Sporting Achievements

Independent Selection (SM) for Bachelor's Degree in Outstanding Sports Achievement is a selection process for prospective undergraduate students based on talent and achievements in sports, with a minimum ranking of 3rd at the provincial level.

Requirements:

1. Participants must be graduates of senior high school/MA/vocational high school or equivalent and graduates of Package C in 2023, 2024, or 2025 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of 1 July 2025).

2. Participants must upload proof of graduation in the form of a diploma or SKL or Grade XII Certificate.

3. Have report card grades for semesters 1 to 5

4. Upload proof of outstanding athletic achievements, with a minimum ranking of 3rd at the provincial level

5. Championship certificates must include the participant's name and be validated by a credible institution (maximum of 5 certificates per category)

6. Possess a certificate of achievement and recommendation from the National Sports Committee (KONI) or the Parent Organisation of the Sports Branch

7. Minimum height: 160 cm for males and 155 cm for females

8. Willing to represent the UNY Team

F. Independent Selection (SM) of Talent Scouting Selection

Independent Selection (SM) S1 Talent Scouting is a selection process for prospective undergraduate students based on their talents and achievements in academic and non-academic fields, with a minimum ranking or 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at the regency/city level in competitions or championships in the fields of sports, MTQ, reasoning, arts and special interests.

Requirements:

1. Participants must be graduates of senior high school/MA/vocational high school or equivalent and graduates of Package C in 2023, 2024, or 2025 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of 1 July 2025).

2. Participants must upload proof of graduation in the form of a diploma or SKL or Grade XII Certificate.

3. Have report card grades for semesters 1 to 5.

4. Have academic and non-academic achievements ranked 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at the minimum at the regency/city level in competitions or championships in the fields of sports, MTQ, reasoning, arts, and special interests.

5. Championship certificates must include the participant's name and be validated by a credible institution.

6. A maximum of 5 certificates per category may be uploaded.

7. Have a letter of recommendation from KONI or the Parent Organisation of Sports Branches for achievements in sports.

8. Take part in an interview.

Independent Selection (SM) for Bachelor's Degree CBT at Home is a selection process for prospective new Bachelor's Degree students based on the results of computer-based academic tests conducted at their respective places of residence.

Requirements:

1. Participants must be graduates of senior high school/MA/vocational high school or equivalent and graduates of Package C in 2023, 2024, or 2025 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of 1 July 2025).

2. Participants must upload proof of graduation in the form of a diploma or SKL or Grade XII Certificate.

Independent Selection (SM) for Bachelor's Degree (S1) UTBK-SNBT Score is a selection process for prospective new undergraduate students based on the 2025 UTBK-SNBT score.

Requirements:

According to the official website snpmb.bppp.kemendikbud.go.id, the following are the requirements for UTBK-SNBT participants:

1. Participants must have an SNPMB Student account. SNPMB student account registration can be done on the SNPMB Portal.
