The workshop aimed to deepen lecturers' understanding of the concepts and implementation of OBE-based curricula, while also strengthening their ability to develop Semester Learning Plans (SLPs) that are relevant to the needs of the workforce, particularly in the field of tourism. In his presentation, Prof. Suyato comprehensively explained the basic principles of OBE, the importance of formulating measurable graduate learning outcomes (CPL), and the relationship between CPL and course learning outcomes (CPMK), sub-CPMK, indicators, and learning materials.
Over the two-day event, participants attended a series of sessions covering OBE-based SLP development, understanding the ideal SLP structure, and practicing the integration of each learning component into the SLP document. Prof. Dr. Suyato, M.Pd. also provided concrete examples of SLPs for courses in the field of tourism as a reference for lecturers in developing applicable and contextual learning plans.
The workshop was lively and interactive. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions and shared their experiences regarding the challenges faced in implementing OBE in higher education. Through this activity, lecturers not only gained theoretical insights, but also practical skills in designing curricula oriented towards graduate learning outcomes.
It is hoped that this workshop will be part of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education and the relevance of the curriculum to the ever-evolving needs of the tourism industry. Furthermore, the results of this activity can be an important stepping stone for the development of an adaptive, innovative curriculum that is capable of producing competent graduates who are ready to compete at a global level.
Through the implementation of this OBE-based curriculum workshop, the International Image Institute demonstrates its commitment to continuing to innovate in the field of higher education and ensuring that every learning process is truly oriented towards the achievements and quality of the graduates produced.
