Seven PNU Students Deployed to UNY Partner Schools: Realizing Global Education Collaboration

Monday, February 2, 2026 – The Department of Pancasila and Civic Education at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) once again demonstrated its commitment to building international cooperation by sending students from Philippine Normal University (PNU) to a number of partner schools. This activity was accompanied by two PNU lecturers and a supervising lecturer from the Department of Civic Education at UNY with the aim of strengthening cross-border academic cooperation.

Cultural Collaboration at Batik Grilyo: Delegations from PNU Philippines and UNY Realize Sustainable Education

Bantul, January 31, 2026 – A warm visit took place at Batik Grilyo, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Seven PNU Philippines students, accompanied by two lecturers from the Philippines, collaborated with students and lecturers from the Civic Education (PKn) Department of Yogyakarta State University (UNY). The group was warmly welcomed by the management of Batik Grilyo. The Filipino students were introduced to the history of batik as a cultural heritage of Indonesia that has been recognized by UNESCO.

Weaving Culture, Strengthening Relationships: PNU Students and UNY Civic Education Students Unite in the Melody of Gamelan at FISIP UNY

Yogyakarta, January 30, 2026 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) witnessed a warm and meaningful cultural gathering. Students from PNU (Philippine Normal University) collaborated with students from the UNY Civic Education Study Program to play gamelan in the FISIP UNY gamelan room. This activity was attended by seven PNU students, PNU lecturers, and UNY civic education students. They collaborated to play gamelan, a traditional Javanese art, as a symbol of cross-border friendship.

Lecturer session by the Department of Civic Education, University of Yogyakarta, together with Philippine Normal University (PNU)

Yogyakarta, Thursday, January 29, 2026 – The Department of Civic Education, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Yogyakarta State University (UNY) held an international lecture series themed “Building Sustainable Academic Networks in ASEAN Higher Education.” The event was attended by PNU and UNY students as well as FISIP UNY lecturers. The keynote speaker for this lecture session was Dr. Ma. Arsenia C. Gomez from Philippine Normal University (PNU), Philippines, and it was moderated by M. Fikri Alvinca, M.Pd. The event took place in the FISIP UNY Hall.

The event was attended by PNU and UNY students as well as FISIP UNY lecturers. The keynote speaker for this lecture session was Dr Ma. Arsenia C. Department of Citizenship Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta Holds Welcome Ceremony with Philippines Normal University

Yogyakarta - The Department of Civic Education at Yogyakarta State University held a Welcome Ceremony in the context of international cooperation between the Department of Civic Education at UNY and PNU together with a delegation from the Philippines on Wednesday, 28 January 2026. This event took place in the Ki Hajar Dewantara Room at FISIP UNY. The event was attended by two lecturers and seven students from the Philippines as part of an academic collaboration and cultural exchange programme. This collaboration began on 28 January 2026 and will continue until 24 February 2025.

The 2026 Hima PKnH Grand Meeting (MUBES) was held

The Student Association (HIMA) of the Civic Education Study Program (PKn) has successfully held a Grand Meeting (MUBES) as the highest forum of the student organization, which serves to evaluate the performance of the management, compile recommendations for work programs, and determine the future direction of the organization's policies. This activity serves as a strategic platform for PKn students to actualize the values of democracy, participation, and deliberation as the main principles of citizenship.

Building Cooperation with Eben Haezer Christian Junior High School 2

In order to expand the partnership network and improve the quality of educational programs, a cooperation exploration activity was carried out between Yogyakarta State University (UNY) and SMP Kristen 2 Eben Haezer. This activity aims to explore opportunities for collaboration in the field of education, particularly related to learning development, student internship/PLP programs, teacher capacity building, and the implementation of innovative programs relevant to school needs and current education policies.

Socialization of the UNY Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK)

Yogyakarta State University (UNY) will hold an Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK) Socialization event as part of its efforts to strengthen the implementation of innovative and collaborative learning policies in higher education. This socialization event aims to provide students and the academic community with a comprehensive understanding of the concept, mechanisms, and benefits of the PLK Program in supporting the development of students' academic and professional competencies.

Collaboration Between the Civic Education Study Programs at UNY and UNIPAR is Going Well

The Civic Education Study Programme (PKn) at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) has established an academic partnership with PGRI Argopuro University (UNIPAR), which is realised through collaborative activities and public lectures on the theme of ‘The Importance of Further Study for the Younger Generation’.
