Seven PNU Students Deployed to UNY Partner Schools: Realizing Global Education Collaboration

Monday, February 2, 2026 – The Department of Pancasila and Civic Education at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) once again demonstrated its commitment to building international cooperation by sending students from Philippine Normal University (PNU) to a number of partner schools. This activity was accompanied by two PNU lecturers and a supervising lecturer from the Department of Civic Education at UNY with the aim of strengthening cross-border academic cooperation. The partner schools visited were SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok Sleman, SMA Mutaira Persada, and SMA Kinderstion School Yogyakarta. In this case, PNU students not only observed learning in schools, but also practiced teaching in several classes. The PNU students' placement at partner schools will last for one month. The objectives of the PNU students' placement at UNY partner schools are to provide cross-cultural learning opportunities and improve the quality of learning through the exchange of experiences, open access for international students to understand the Indonesian education system, thereby reducing the knowledge gap between nations, and strengthening the academic cooperation network between UNY and PNU through school-based programs.

PNU students were warmly welcomed by the three partner schools of the UNY Department of Civic Education. They interacted directly with teachers and students, observed the learning process, and discussed the teaching methods applied at UNY's partner schools. The presence of UNY supervising lecturers ensured that the activities ran smoothly and served as a means of academic reflection for foreign students. Through this program, UNY hopes to create a deeper understanding of cross-border educational practices, while strengthening academic and cultural diplomacy. UNY's partner schools are expected to become global learning spaces that support the achievement of sustainable development goals.
