Efforts to strengthen the role of the family in instilling nationalist values based on local wisdom are one strategic approach in strengthening national identity at the community level. In Guwosari Village, Kapanewon Pajangan, Bantul Regency, rich local wisdom—such as the tradition of mutual cooperation, as well as the values of politeness and politeness between residents—becomes an important social potential to support character education based on national values. Through community service activities, families are encouraged to not only become cultural actors, but also as agents of transmitting nationalist values to the younger generation through daily life practices.

This activity is designed in the form of counseling, interactive discussions and participatory workshops involving parents, community leaders and local youth. The main focus is to build collective awareness that nationalist values, such as love of the homeland, tolerance and a spirit of unity, can be instilled through local cultural narratives that are familiar to children. Strengthening the role of the family in this context not only has an impact on increasing understanding of nationalism, but also becomes a concrete effort in maintaining and preserving local cultural identity as an integral part of the character of the Indonesian nation.
